TGUS (티지어스) return with less members, new material

The Guys Using Sound‘, or TGUS for short, is a quartet vocal-ensemble. TGUS (Han Kwan Mee, Park Sang Joon, Lee Shi Hyun, Song Yeong Min) idolize Boys II Men, and their previous music pretty much reflect those soulful influences.  Of course, in Korean.

These four guys debuted in 2008 with their ‘God of Harmony‘ album, featuring such talents as SG Wannabe’s Kim Jihno, M to M’s Son Jun Hyeok and Soulstar’s Lee Gyun Hun.

Here they are covering ‘Feel It (In The Air Tonight)‘ by Naturally Seven:

I’m a sucker for a cappella groups, specifically consisting of male vocalists, because there’s nothing like listening to raw and unaltered voices.  Recently, TGUS have released an upbeat ballad titled “Still…Thanks” featuring Gil Me.  I’m not 100% sure, but TGUS have returned with only 2 members for their latest single.

It’s a great song, nonetheless.

Listening to this makes me want to start unearthing Korean indie music again.  I’ll definitely start updating with K-indie and some unrecognized musicians (as in, they’re not Kpop-idols).  That’s where I think Korean music really delivers.

  1. OMG. I just found another k-pop fan who’s into a cappella groups! Hell yes!

I think I’m in love with this group. As wonderful as DBSK are, these TGUS guys blow them out of the water in terms of a cappella awesomeness. And they have a VP! *faints from happiness*

Thanks for introducing TGUS to me! If you find any more artists like them, please let me know =]

    • Woo! I’ll definitely keep posting about these kinds of groups, as well as some other Korean musicians who just aren’t commercialized as much as they should :)
