Introducing, The Kpop Panel

or more like REintroducing –

Hi everyone, welcome to the latest tid-bit that Mel (Melismatic), Nikki (Pop Reviews Now), and I like to call ‘The Kpop Panel‘!

You’re probably asking yourselves: what the hell is this kpop panel? Formally, it is “a global bloggers summit to discuss one thing and one thing only: Korean Pop Music.” Informally, it’s a place where hip bloggers join their forces to review Kpop (in styyyyle).

Although the blog was active on and off for a few months in 2010, and then quickly faced a moment of hiatus, we decided to bring it back this week, bigger and better than ever.

Basically, each week, our panelists will briefly give some insight and thoughts into five or six various mainstream (and some not so mainstream) KPop releases, ultimately deciding each week’s Panel Champion. We will also be holding regular Weekly Polls to gauge your reactions and favorites to the songs in each panel each week, and how they compare to our finalists decision…

The overall goal of The KPop Panel is to have fun, and to help spread the KPop love to bloggers and fans all around the world. We strive to provide a panel of music fans from all over with all different tastes to create a truly unique look at the ever-growing Korean Pop Music market.” — The Kpop Panel, About

In our first comeback summit (which we hope to continue on a weekly schedule), we pulled some of this year’s top contenders post-July 2011 for the panel to review. This week’s BIG line-up included the following Kpop singles:

B1A4 – “Beautiful Target”
Brown Eyed Girls – “Hot Shot”
Davichi – “Don’t Say Good-bye”
G.NA – “Top Girl”
Infinite – “Be Mine”
Jewelry S – “Forget It”
JYJ – “Get Out”
KARA – “Step”
Miss A – “Good-bye Baby”
Sistar – “So Cool”
Super Junior – “A-Cha”
U-KISS – “Neverland”

I know, massive. In addition to this hefty load, we chose another 6 songs that were released between October 2010 – June 2011. You can find those and which of the Kpop babies listed above is this weeks Panel Champion HERE. Enjoy, and make sure to comment, pick your own winner of the week on the handy-dandy poll in the sidebar, and share suggestions for our next Kpop Panel via twitter, email, and/or comments section.Til next time!
