[Review][Single] 4rest – “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus”

written by: drowningn00b

After a month of craziness, I was ready to jive on something cool. And, somehow, the powers that be listened and brought to the airwaves a debut single that’s funky, cool and happy-go-lucky glorious.

4rest is a new group of two guys – Kim Jin Seok and Kang Sung Min – and two gals – An Sung Mi and Park Young Mi – that remind me of Fleetwood Mac with their play on harmonies, though not as polished. However, for a new group, 4rest has great vocals, both as a group and as individuals.

Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus” has a radio/guitar intro that sets up the track nicely (by the way, who still listens to radio?), and proceeds with a funky drum and bass beat for enjoyable foot tapping. Occasionally you’ll here horns during the chorus, but the production is clean and polished, the vocals front and center, and nothing gets in the way of the enjoyment of the song.

4rest did a great job in executing a debut single for themselves in “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus”. It’s catchy and up-beat, and a helluva lot of fun.

Feeling blue? Pop this in and I dare you not to smile or dance along with 4rest.
